USPSA UTAH SECTION COORDINATOR |

As most already know, I plan on stepping down as USPSA Utah Section Coordinator, a position I have held since the mid-1990's.
I have been talking to Veijo Jones about becoming the Utah SC for many years and he is willing to do so now. He will be attending most of our Utah Club matches beginning in May to maintain a sense of how the Section is doing.
There will be ballots at the next SLPSA, LTD and CAPS matches for our USPSA members with Veijo Jones on the ballot as well as a write-in spot . A ballot box or envelope for your ballots will be at the match. I you feel you have the experience and are qualified to be Utah Section Coordinator, make contacts to support your write-in campaign.
I have been competing and traveling to major matches with Veijo for over 10 years and think no one is better qualified with his experience and even tempered personality to assume the SC position. His past words and actions have shown to me that he will promote the Utah Section as a whole without bias for or against any single Utah club.

Veijo Jones USPSA FY35674 has been elected/affirmed as Utah's new Section Coordinator.
My last action as Utah SC will be distributing the Utah Section slots to the 2010 Handgun Nationals. Communication between Veijo and myself is very good, so the transition should be seamless.
It has been a privilege to be Utah's Section Coordinator. The sport has a completely different feel than it did when I accepted the position many years ago. A wider array of skills are necessary to successfully shoot stages well. Also the competition level is significantly higher in club and higher tier matches. It has been great fun watching Utah's clubs change as the sport has changed. I look forward to competing in many future club level and major matches. See you all in Idaho Falls in June.

Gentlemen (or whatever applies...) - thanks for your support! I'm making the transition from 70+ hour work weeks to 50 starting Monday. Until a few minutes ago, I thought today was Thursday and that I had one more day to finish this IT project from hell before CAPS. Well, it's Friday and I still have 15 - 20 hours of work so the next match I'll make will be WSA. I've hired a guy to start transitioning my side work to so I'll begin to have some discretionary time now.
What is the interest level in having a state match this year?

I have all ready been getting emails and calls about the state match, I think you should start a new post for that so that it will draw ones attention to the pole
thanks mike |

| Has there been any more discussion/decisions about a Utah State Match? |

| The state match has been organized by basicly the same group for the last several years and they surely deserve a break. The Southern Utah club had expressed interest but their range is in limbo due to construction. Who is interested in helping organize a state match for 2010 to be held likely in September as in the past? |
